The equipment is ordered.

Hello from Zurich. This is the first issue — and we’ll be honest: there’s no stall yet, no counter and no sign. But there is an order on its way, and a few things that keep us up at night.

What happened

The equipment for the Christmas market is ordered. Oven, refrigeration, counter, till — everything that has to fit into a double hut in the Rosenhof. Now we wait for the delivery and hope everything works the way we planned it in our kitchen at home. An oven in a wooden hut in December is a different thing from an oven at home.

What’s on our minds

We’re excited. Not nervous — excited. Will everything work, will the rolls come out of the oven at the pace we calculated, will the queue keep moving? And: will people even find us in this courtyard? The Rosenhof is a little hidden between the Niederdorf and the Limmat — if you’ve been there, you know it; if not, you might walk right past. That’s what this newsletter is for. You’ll always know where we are.

What’s in the oven right now

The final trials are under way — with the flavours we want to offer. We bake, taste, discard, bake again. We can’t wait for your feedback once the first roll goes over the counter. Which flavours it will be: more in the next newsletter.

Where to find us

From 19 November at the Dörfli Christmas Market, Rosenhof, stalls 69/70. Expected from late November also at Reif, the butcher’s on the Zürichberg. And in 2027, if all goes well, in our own shop — if you want to be the first to know, you’re in the right place.

see you soon at the Rosenhof
